11 things men will never understand about women...

Men are from Mars, women are from Venus, or something like that. I don’t know if I believe we’re so different that half the population are Martians and the others are Venus-ans, but I do know there are some differences between men’s and women’s lifestyles that create a gulf in understanding.

Before you quit! put these into consideration.....

Giving up could be the best thing for you, but it also could be the worse if you do not approach it right. If you are about to say goodbye to something/someone that was once important to you, be sure you consider these things below.

 1. Think things through: Why are you giving up? Is it from anger, frustration or pain? Is there a solution to these feelings or do you honestly believe you have done your best. Sometimes, people quit because they are tired or angry, but these feelings usually pass and you might have left something big behind only to realize you made a terrible mistake. So, take a second to think things through before you make a decision. You should not make a permanent decision over a temporary emotion.

 2. Approach things differently: Have you tried approaching things a little differently? Look into whatever you want to give up on, have you tried the varieties of approach you have? There might be an avenue you are yet to explore. READ ALSO: Signs you will never make it in life

 3. Try again: Most people give up on the first attempt, but people that reach their goals usually try more than once. So, before you say goodbye, give it one more try. You never know.

4. Take a step back: Do you feel drained and overwhelmed? Perhaps, all you need is a break. You do not need to permanently shut a door when all you actually need is a few moments break. So, if possible, take some time out to sort through your emotions, or to simply distract yourself. When you return, you will feel more refreshed and energized.

5. Ask for help: Sometimes the solution is just a helping hand away. Some of us forget that others might have the solution we seek. We should not do it all alone, that is unrealistic. Consider asking a mentor, family or friends for help. Those that care for you will always be willing to help.

6. Create a back-up plan: The worst thing you can do is quit something without knowing what you will do afterwards. This usually happens when people quit in anger or because they are depressed. Making the conscious decision to quit means knowing that there is something else to take its place. It can be extremely disheartening to give up on something only to be left with nothing.

*Dont give up*

I Kidnap People To Raise Money For My Girlfriend’s Bride Price – Suspect (Photo)

Chukwudi was arrested alongside some other members of the group, including Joseph Chiaotu, aka Ejima, 21, Anozie Chinonso, 25 and 27-year-old Chukwuma Agim, who is a prison official, in connection with the kidnapping of a woman in Imo State.

Speaking to journalists during the week, Chukwudi said he was studying Mechanical Engineering at Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Imo State before he dropped out in his final year. “What led me into kidnapping was unfortunate,” he said.
He explained that the pressure to raise the bride price of his pregnant girlfriend lured him into the crime. He said, “My girlfriend is pregnant and I have been under pressure to pay her bride price but I had no money. She told me that since she became pregnant her mother had been ostracised by her fellow women in their village. The pressure was too much that I needed to look for money by all means.”
On how he came across the other suspects, Chukwudi explained that when the pressure became unbearable, he contacted two of his friends; Nnamdi, who is now in prison, and Chiboy, who later introduced him to Agim for the trade.
He said, “Agim, being a prison official, was the one making way for us whenever we approached a police check point but our first operation was not successful because the person we targeted escaped. But on the second operation, Chiboy went with a policeman and they kidnapped the woman.”
He said for his involvement in the deal and for taking food to the victim in the bush, he was given N100,000 as his share. He said, “Chiboy told me that he got only N1.1m from the woman but when we were arrested, the woman told us she paid N3m as ransom. The moment I got my own share, I gave my girlfriend part of it to start the preparation (for the wedding) while I went to the market to buy drinks. That was when I got a call from Agim and when I met him I was arrested.”
Agim, a prison official from Imo State who said he was lured into the trade by an inmate, Nnamdi, told journalists that even though he was able to buy clothes, settle his debts and fix his car with his N100,000 share in the ransom paid by the victim’s family, he regrets his involvement in the act.
He recalled that when he was posted to the Owerri prison, his mother, who was also serving in the prison, warned him to be wary of one inmate, named Vampire, and his friends so as not to get into trouble. He maintained that he was reluctant when Nnamdi approached him but that he later found the offer attractive.
He began, “I was in my final year student in Imo State University where I was studying Insurance. I was earning N43,000 monthly as a prison official and I was even thankful because I didn’t join the Service with a first degree.
“When I came for industrial attachment last year, our chief warder told us that there was a notorious kidnapper called Vampire who was arrested and would be brought to Owerri Prison. Early this year I met Nnamdi who was in the same cell with Vampire. Nnamdi first asked me to get him a phone and he offered me N3,000 but I refused. So, he met another officer who got him the phone. They kept pressurising me that they wanted us to be friends.
“So, one day, we sat behind the food store and they told me several stories about their escapade in kidnapping and I found it attractive. They told me they were rich people and they used to visit several popular bars in major towns in the South East and South South states and that when they observe rich people leaving the bar, they go after them and kidnap them.”
He said at the end of the conversation, they gave him a number and that with that he was able to link other members, including Chiboy, aka Eze Ekudeley, whom he called a big kidnapper, Ejima and Chukwudi.
He said they used to work with a policeman and that on the day they went to pick their victim, a woman, she wasn’t the main the target but she was traced to her house where she was picked.
“It was Nnamdi who called me to and look after the woman in the bush. I borrowed money from a friend and used it to buy food for the woman. I gave the food to Uzordima to give to the woman. I learnt the woman stayed for two days. I was given N100, 000 after the N1.1m ransom was collected. I bought clothes, settled my debt and fixed my car.
He said he was arrested few days after the operation. “It was Ejima who led them to me. I regret getting myself into this mess he lamented,” he added.
On his part, Ejima said his share of the ransom was N70,000, out of which he used N10,000 to buy shoes and clothes. “I don’t know how the police heard about what I did; they came after me and arrested me. I led the police to arrest the prison official and four other members of the gang, but we were unable to arrest Chiboy. He noticed the presence of the police and he attempted to escape. He ran into the bus and the police fired several shots at him but he wasn’t hit.
Chinonso, who also hailed from Imo State, said poverty led him into kidnapping. “All I was looking for was a little money to buy a bus on hire purchase because the one I had got spoilt. I met Ejima recently and I told him I needed assistance because I had no job. He promised he would help me.”
He explained that he participated in the kidnap and that his share was N100,000 but that he was arrested when he was about hiring a bus. “It was poverty that led me into this crime. I am a very poor person struggling for myself and my family. I have no one helping me and my mother is a very old woman. I pray this woman (the victim) and her family would forgive me, he said.

The show also featured an emotional tribute to David Bowie, led by Annie Lennox and his friend Gary Oldman.
Lennox called Bowie, who died of cancer last month, "a quintessential visionary" and "the ultimate iconoclast."

Canadian singer Justin Bieber, who performed his chart topping singles Love Yourself and Sorry, won best international male.

One Direction's victory in the fan-voted best video category robbed Adele of the opportunity to become the most-garlanded artist in a single Brits ceremony.
As it stands, her total of four awards is equalled only by Blur, who won the same number in 1995 for their album Parklife.
Adele became more emotional as the ceremony continued, bursting into tears after accepting the global success prize - which recognises success overseas.
"I got really lost for a while and I didn't know if I'd ever come back," she said, referencing the writer's block that delayed her much-anticipated third album.
"For you all to be so kind to me is so nice."
Media captionHighlights from the Brit Awards 2016
Earlier, the star used her best female victory speech to declare support for US pop star Kesha, who has accused record producer Dr Luke of sexual and emotional abuse.
Reflecting on her victory backstage, Adele told reporters: "I feel a bit worn out, emotionally. But it was absolutely incredible. I was hoping to win one but to get that many was amazing and very lovely. A nice return."

President Obama: ‘Donald Trump will not be president’....

President Obama said Tuesday that he doesn’t think Republican front-runner Donald Trump will succeed him in the Oval Office, despite the billionaire’s impressive poll numbers and victory in the New Hampshire primary.
“I continue to believe Mr. Trump will not be president, and the reason is because I have a lot of faith in the American people, and I think they recognize that being president is a serious job,” Obama said at a California press conference. “It’s not hosting a talk show or a reality show, it’s not promotion, it’s not marketing, it’s hard. And a lot of people count on us getting it right, and it’s not a matter of pandering and doing whatever gets you in the news on a given day.”
The comments are some of the most direct Obama has made regarding the 2016 presidential race, though he has condemned what he sees as anti-Muslim rhetoric from the Republican field, which he did again on Tuesday, emphasizing that Trump is not the only one making divisive comments.
“I think foreign observers are troubled by some of the rhetoric that’s taken place in these Republican primaries, and the Republican debates. I don’t think it’s restricted, by the way, to Mr. Trump,” Obama said. “I mean, I find it interesting that everyone’s focused on Trump, primarily just because he says in more interesting ways what the other candidates are saying as well.”
“So he may up the ante in anti-Muslim sentiment, but if you look at what the other candidates have said, that’s pretty troubling too.”
He also singled out Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), though not by name, for his change of stance on immigration.
“You’ve got a candidate who sponsored a bill that I supported to finally solve the immigration problem, and he’s running away from it as fast as he can,” Obama said referring to the failed 2013 “Gang of Eight” immigration reform bill.
Obama also slammed the GOP candidates for their opposition to actions to fight climate change.
“The other countries around the world, they kind of count on the United States being on the side of science and reason and common sense,” he said.
“There is not a single candidate in the Republican primary that thinks we should do anything about climate change, that thinks it’s serious. Well that’s a problem.”
Still, Obama said he was optimistic that voters would settle on a qualified candidate.
“The American people are pretty sensible, and I think they’ll make a sensible choice in the end.”

US Investigates 14 New Zika Cases....

The US Centre for Disease Control (CDC) says it is investigating 14 new reports of possible sexual transmission of the Zika virus. This includes several pregnant women.

The CDC made the revelation as it published new guidance on sexual transmission of the virus.
The guidance has been issued in response to confirmation of the first case of Zika in a non-traveller in the continental United States.
That case was linked to sexual contact with an infected partner.
The CDC is advising all men who have travelled to an area active with the Zika virus to use protection or abstain from intercourse for the length of the pregnancy.
The health body said that there is no evidence yet that women can transmit Zika virus to their partners, but more research is needed to understand this issue.
Zika is linked to the microcephaly birth defects in babies.
The primary method of infection of the virus remains mosquito bites. Experts said that women who are pregnant, should try to avoid the insects.
On Tuesday, Margaret Chan, the Head of the World Health Organization, said the world faced “a long journey” to defeat Zika.
Speaking in Brazil, where most cases had been recorded, she said it was a “very tricky, tenacious and difficult virus”.

WE HAVE PAID 50 BILLION NAIRA TO NCC, MTN.

The company, in a statement, explained that the payment was made “on the basis that this will be applied toward a settlement, where one is eventually, hopefully arrived at.
MTN also agreed to withdraw the matter from the High Court in Lagos to achieve an “amicable settlement.
“In renewed steps towards a negotiated settlement and to create a conducive atmosphere for further negotiations, MTN Nigeria today withdrew its case against the NCC at the Federal High Court of Lagos in response to a request by the authorities.
“MTN Nigeria has paid N50 Billion to the Federal Government as a gesture of good faith and commitment to continued efforts towards an amicable resolution”, the statement added.
Meanwhile, the Special Assistant to the Minis
ter of Communications, Mr Victor Oluwadamilare, in a telephone interview, said the ministry cannot ascertain the claimed payment from MTN Nigeria.
The company’s stock has declined 31 percent since the fine originally set at $5.2 billion was made public in October last year.
The NCC had imposed a N1.04 Trillion fine on MTN Nigeria in October 2015, for its failure to disconnect 5.1 Million improperly registered lines within the prescribed deadline.
The fine was adjusted by 25% to N780 billion, an amount that was considered inimical to the survival of the business.
